Each session is hosted by an Americhem colour expert well known in the industries the company serves, including synthetic fibres, building and construction, and automotive.
The 2017 Americhem U series will offer education on an array of topics. On February 16, 2017, there will be a session on designing colour masterbatches which will discuss why design is a differentiator in the world of colour and additive masterbatches. The session will also explore the concepts of dispersion and rheology and learn why colour design is a key for end-product consistency and stabilisation.
On March 23, 2017, there will be a session on discovering the value of using CMC tolerancing system. There will be a discussion on how the CMC tolerancing system helps ensure consistency and accuracy throughout the supply chain and from one batch of material to the next. Based on the colour discrimination threshold of the human eye, CMC represents a significant upgrade from other colour tolerancing models such as ΔE.
On May 18, 2017, a forum on the fundamentals of controlling colour will be held. This will explore the secrets to controlling colour in the manufacturing process. It will also help identifying and learning management of sources of variation. Participants can learn the communication of colour standards and the proper use of standards and spectrophotometers.
On September 21, 2017, a session on colour trends forecast will be held. This will help realise the power of determining consumer colour preferences with annual colour trends forecast. The unique colour palettes help achieve colour harmony.
During a session held on April 5, 2017, there will be a discussion on how to see, measure, and manage colours. This will give insights on the unseen aspects of colour that drive product design and how to choose the right colour to perform product applications. (GK)
