Weak polyester feedstock trends pull down Asian MEG

Prices of MEG in Asia declined today (July 8) due to fall in polyester feedstock prices coupled with weak downstream demand in the region.
MEG offers declined by US$ 10/ton today in the S E Asian market and were in the range of US$ 990/ton to US$ 995/ton.
In the Chinese USD market, prices of MEG went down by US$ 5/ton as compared to yesterday’s closing and were assessed in the range of USD 995/ton to USD 1000/ton.
Whereas in the Chinese domestic market also, MEG prices dipped and were in the range of RMB 7400/ton to RMB 7450/ton.
