Factories in China are likely to get an uninterrupted power supply during the winter and spring seasons as coal storage at various power plants in the country is expected to hit historic highs this month, according to National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). Coal inventories at power plants has increased by 30 per cent YoY since last month.The average daily coal supply of the country since mid-November has been close to 8.6 million tonnes, the highest being 9.43 million tonnes per day, despite an increase in the consumption of coal, as per the NDRC. During this period, the coal supply per day exceeded consumption by close to 2 million tonnes.
The total coal storage in the power plants in China had reached 147 million tonnes last Tuesday, said the NDRC.
