Three assignments for textile and garment industry by ETGAMA

With the help of Mr.Stephan Rehlen (ECBP/SEQUA) intenational consultant), ETGAMA made a quick sectoral analysis to clearly identify the current impending and urgent problems of the sector that needs fast intervention.

The board of ETGAMA has selected 15 companies from the textile and garment group for this task force meeting and the one-day strategic discussion ended up with three assignments gave it to three teams/individuals, to be followed by subsequent action. The result of this meeting would be communicated to the Government through the Engineering Capacity Building Program (ECBP).

Mr. Stephan Rehlen, ecbp/Sequa international consultant was leading the initiative together with ETGAMA office, and the one-day strategic discussion ended up with three assignments gave it to three team/individuals, to be followed by subsequent actions. The following are the assignment the responsible person.

ASSIGNMENT 1-
-To consolidate the cotton quality interest of spinning and textile mills in a way that can be presented for the cotton growers/traders in a form of enforcement through ETGAMA and the Government.

Responsible person:- of Ato Fekade from Arba Minch Textile, Mr. Shahin from Almeda Textile, Mr. Asghar from Al-Aser Industries and Ato Mengistu from Kombolcha Textile. The team agreed to be chaired by Ato Fekade.

ASSIGNMENT 2-
-To look for and facilitate a legal service regarding the labor problem of the sector.
Responsible person – W/ro Giuliana Zuccato from Addis Garment

ASSIGNMENT 3-
-To draft a letter to be signed by all member factories through ETGAMA regarding the basic common interest discussed.
Responsible person: – Mr. Shahin from Almehdi Industries.

The result of this meeting would be communicated to the Government through the Engineering Capacity Building Program (ECBP).
