While Flipkart continues to dominate the tier-II and tier-III cities and towns, Amazon has an advantage in the metro cities, according to the ELI report that studied the consumers who do online shopping on a regular basis.
For the reported period, a sudden dip was observed in the overall scores of various online retailers including Paytm, Snapdeal, ShopClues and eBay India. The score of Paytm fell to 65 while Snapdeal scored 73 with a decline of six points. ShopeClues and eBay India, acquired by Flipkart in April this year, scored 41 and 35 in ELI, respectively.
Over 7,000 online shoppers from across 30 cities of the country were surveyed by RedSeer for the latest study. It essentially surveyed the performance of various e-commerce portals in three metrics such as trust in the brand, product prices and assortment, consumers' buying experience considering the ease of using the website, returns and cancellations and delivery speed and consistency.
