The second edition of Avantex, a trade fair dedicated to high tech fashion fabrics and to R&D in the industry kicks off from February 15-18, 2016 at Paris Le Bourget.

“High-tech, highly innovative companies will encounter designers and product managers from fashion labels, in the service of the industry, a press release from the organisers, Messe Frankfurt stated.

“Avantex is asserting itself both as an indispensable B2B platform for rethinking fashion and creating intelligent collections in order to conquer new markets,” Messe Frankfurt added.

"We want Avantex to drive fashion into the future and this corresponds perfectly to a highly contemporary desire to link scientific research to ready-to-wear segments, Michael Scherpe, CEO of Messe Frankfurt France said.

“We are offering high-tech materials which have the advantage of being available now for immediate use in clothing,” Scherpe informed.

Avantex has enhanced its eco-system to benefit markets boosted by the range of innovative functions by means of two new labels which complement the availability of high added-value fabrics in a highly eclectic way.

Two keenly-awaited functional fabrics will be added at this event, alongside fabrics with moisture transfer, quick drying, UV protection, impermeability, waterproofing and breathability, etc properties.

One of them is Cool feeling which is made from cosmetic fibres, capable of texturising materials to produce a direct effect on the body.

Another is anti-bacterial, a tried and tested solution for fixing the anti-bacterial agent durably by creating strong chemical bonds between the active substances and the textile fibres.

They can be found in the collections of exhibitors including some who attended the launch event, like the Thai Everest and Wisher from Taiwan.

According to Messe Frankfurt, particular attention will be given to upcoming micro-businesses and start-ups, which are frequently behind new concepts and processes.

“Their dynamism and capacity for making discoveries make them an act to be followed,” the organiser observed. (AR)
