The Hohenstein Institute under the motto, 'Taking a stand, For quality and sustainability' participated in the Texcare International fair, the world's leading trade fair for the textile care industry held in June 2016.

One of the key themes at the Hohenstein stand was the RAL Quality Certification Mark 992 as a guarantee for safety through professional laundry services.

Management Systems certification centre was also presented at the booth. This tests and certifies companies operating within the textile service industry in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

One more topic addressed at the stall was the importance of the professional preparation of modern functional textiles.

“Both visitors and exhibitors were able to find out about the trend topics for the industry, such as Industry 4.0 sustainability, textile innovations and training,” Hohenstein said.

Dr. Andreas Schmidt, managing director of Hohenstein Laboratories spoke on opportunities for safeguarding the functional characteristics of PSA and emphasised the importance of renewing functions in textile care.

At the show, Prof. Dr. Josef Kurz from the Hohenstein Institute received the WRP Star industry trophy in recognition of his life's work.

According to Hohenstein, as the scientific director of the Chemical Cleaning research centre, Kurz has made a significant contribution to development of alternative solvents and optimised cleaning technologies.

“The available knowledge has enabled the Hohenstein Institute to become the world's leading research institute with regard to environmentally friendly cleaning processes,” the Institute said. (AR)
