 Senator Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, urged small businesses in the textile, clothing and footwear sector to apply for grants worth $2.5 million in the latest funding round of the Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Small Business Program.
Small businesses can apply for grants of up to $50,000 per project through the Australian Government program.
"This program is about boosting the competitiveness of smaller Australian designers and manufacturers in their domestic and overseas markets," Senator Carr said.
"It is enterprising businesses that change the way they do business that survive and thrive in tougher market conditions.
"The program supports small designers and manufacturers that undertake innovative projects in areas such as mentoring, marketing and branding, supply chains, e-commerce and export opportunity development.
"The Rudd Government is committed to promoting innovation and revitalising Australia's small business textile, clothing and footwear industry," Senator Carr said.
Applications for Round 4 close on 27 February 2009.
AusIndustry, the Australian Government’s business program delivery division in the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, will be conducting information workshops about the program in early February 2009 and businesses can view more information on registration. | | | | Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research | |
