The 47th edition of Filo Milan, a B2B trade show for yarns and fibres currently underway in Italy, is strategically aimed to highlight the excellence of yarns and products from the most innovative Italian and worldwide companies. Marchi & Fildi, Filatura C4 and Shin-Naigai Textile are some of the companies, which are showcasing their products at the show.

Marchi & Fildi are displaying a collection focused on Ecotec, the innovative yarn launched only over a year ago. It is a 'smart' cotton, produced by an exclusive production process. This process is traceable and certified, transforming pre-dyed textile clippings into a 100 per cent cotton yarn with record savings in water and energy consumption. Thanks to its features, after a long process, Ecotec has recently got the 'Tessile e Salute certification.

Ecotec is a refined and versatile yarn that is perfect for woven and jersey fashion fabrics, as well as for knitwear and hosiery. It is perfect for retail and contract furnishings in ways that appeal to the creative experimentation of interiors stylists and designers. Ecotec has been already selected by renowned fashion brands like Eileen Fisher and Marimekko to create sustainable and innovative products.

This year Ecotec by Marchi & Fildi will present two product lines – Ecotec Innovation, a line of smart solutions created by the R&D department of Marchi & Fildi, in cooperation with a textile style office, and Ecotec Collection, an exclusive range of Ecotec fabrics made by accredited partners.

Filatura C4's collection for Filo has been planned to satisfy the market's increasingly more specific needs, which require increased specialisation and responsibility in the recovery of textile fabrics. Thanks to the Re.Verso system, Filatura C4 offers quality products with low environmental impact through the use of pre-consumer wool cuts which are collected, selected and processed in an accredited, fully transparent and traceable way.

The Re.Verso collection is mainly employed in contract and home furnishing. The Re.Verso product is available in a range of counts going from 5,000 to 9,500 Nm.

Shin-Naigai Textile Ltd. has introduced several products like Botanicaldye and a natural bamboo yarn, Takeito at the Filo trade show. Takeito is a yarn blended with authentic natural bamboo and cotton. It has the natural look and crisp feel of bamboo.

Botanicaldye by Color Ball is a highly innovative and original patented Japanese technology. Combining the best of nature and chemical dyestuff technology, this melange yarn is both beautiful and practical, utilising natural plant extracts from fruits, flower, herbs and teas. The advanced dyeing technology enables the company to produce a natural yarn with a stable colour fastness. (KD)
