Microplastic issue to affect textile product development

Eurofins Scientific, a global group of laboratories headquartered in Luxembourg, is involved in carrying out studies and developing tests to evaluate the generation and presence of microplastics in the environment and in products, according to top company official Stephane Barrau, who feels this issue will continue to affect textile product development.

Barrau, vice president of global consumer product testing, told Fibre2Fashion that the issue of microplastic contamination will also impact manufacturers in other industries like suppliers of detergents and washing machines.
