Big harvest for Xinjiang colored cotton this year

Xinjiang Shihezi City planted 10 million mu (abt 6666.67 hectares) of colored cotton this year. The output reached an average of 300 kilograms per mu (1 hectare equals 15 mu). At present, up to 30,000 tons of colored cotton have been ordered out by domestic cotton processing enterprises.
Colored cotton is also called natural color cotton, which is bred to burst cotton with red, yellow, green, brown and other natural colors by using hybrid gene-transfer and modern bio-engineering techniques.
Colored cotton to be used in textiles could remove complicated dyeing processes, it does not only reduce the cost of production, but also guarantees a zero pollution.
Color cotton started research on China in the early 1990s, now Large-scale cultivation of color cotton in Xinjiang has been successful.
Field management technology is more standardized and more scientific. Xinjiang has already acquired the promoting conditions for large-scale planting.
