OE cotton fibre plant opens in Long An

Thanh Cong Textile and Apparel Joint Stock Company (TCM) has recently established its third fibre plant at Duc Hoa Industrial Zone (DHIZ), located in the Southern Province of Long An.
The new plant installed with latest technology and machines has the capacity to produce high quality open end (OE) cotton yarns, which are mostly meant for exports.
According to Dinh Cong Hung, General Director, the company studies and follows the major changes going on in the market, in order to adjust for the sustainable growth. TCM, one of the biggest textile and apparel companies in Vietnam, has been trying to develop image of Vietnamese products in the international market.
The production process in the plant has been divided into three phases. The currently build one has capacity of producing 3,500 tons per year. Another facility likely to be completed by this year end will manufacture 4,500 tons per year. The third factory with a capacity of annual 7,500 tons will start operating by June 2008.
In the first half of this year, TCM earned a turnover of around $35.3 million representing a year–on-year growth of 109 percent.
