Alpaca United is a textile fiber company created to make the fiber more competitive in world markets. The company will create and manage market building campaigns designed to increase share of market, product demand, and pricing. Alpaca United joined the National Textile Association this spring and last month NTA's David Trumbull visited Nick Hahn at the group's Old Lyme, Connecticut office.

Nicholas Hahn, former CEO and President of Cotton Incorporated is headed into the world of textile fibers once again. The Alpaca farmers and processors of North America announced in March the formation of a new company, Alpaca United, in which Hahn has been named CEO.

The company's mission is to develop a brand identity for Alpaca fiber. Hahn's initial plan is to add value through a brand identity program targeting the luxury end of the textile and apparel markets. "The most valuable asset a consumer product can have is its "brand", says Hahn.

“It attracts customers, it projects product quality and integrity, it stands for exclusivity and it enhances position in the category-in our case luxury apparel and home textiles." The world of luxury fiber, including cashmere, mohair, and silk is a growing category as seen recently during Fashion Week in New York and Paris.
