Duty drawback scheme to end on June 30

Pakistan's much debated drawback on local taxes and levies (DLTL) scheme would be scrapped from June 30, according to Mr. Shahid Rashid, Secretary, Ministry of Textile Industries.

The Federal Secretary said that nearly PKR24 billion is yet to be released by the Ministry of Finance on account of duty drawback.

He said that the Ministry of Finance has been requested to release funds due to the textile industry against different heads including duty drawbacks. “Efforts are on to secure the release of at least a part of the amount lying stuck against DLTL to provide some relief to the textile industry,” he added.
