Theodore Orji, Governor of east Nigerian State of Abia, has initiated a process to reactivate the ailing textile mills in the State, by setting up a committee to revive Aba Textile Mills.
The six-man advisory committee has been entrusted with the job of generating ideas for early revival of the Mills. The Governor said that the members of the committee have been specially selected due to their textile industry experience.
The Governor stated that the step to set up a committee was in consonance with his assurance to revive the ailing textile sector, as a part of his government's effort to provide employment for the youth and boost the economy of Abia State.
He promised that his government would not allow the textile mill to close and hoped that its revival will enhance business and create jobs.
