PrimaLoft, the world leader in performance insulations and yarn applications, announces that Bob Dempsey has been hired as Lead Product Development Engineer for the PrimaLoft YARN division. Dempsey's extensive background in the textile industry and his in-depth knowledge of yarn applications from development to production will significantly support PrimaLoft's efforts to bring innovative, proprietary yarn blends to the marketplace.

With Dempsey's leadership and experience, PrimaLoft will continue to refine its proprietary yarn blends through the integration of new materials and advanced processing technologies. Dempsey brings over 18 years of experience in process engineering and will serve as a liaison with numerous textile manufacturers.

“We're pleased to welcome Bob Dempsey to the PrimaLoft team,” said Joe Rumiesz, vice president and general manager, PrimaLoft. “We are dedicated to growing the PrimaLoft yarn business by bringing to market proprietary blends that are technologically innovative and support the PrimaLoft reputation for superior quality. We're confident that Bob will help us achieve our goals.”

In his new role, Dempsey will be responsible for the product line, manufacturing processes, and technical innovation for PrimaLoft YARN. Dempsey will work closely with PrimaLoft's sales force to drive innovation tailored to existing and new product applications, customers and markets.

PrimaLoft Merino Blend YARN comprises luxuriously soft, yet durable PrimaLoft fibers blended with top-quality wool in a proprietary process that translates into superior performance. PrimaLoft YARN is known for being soft yet durable, offering superior moisture management and drying properties, as well as anti-friction capabilities to enhance performance apparel and socks. PrimaLoft YARN applications include socks, sweaters, base layer, blankets, scarves and accessories.

Manufacturers globally are discovering PrimaLoft YARN performance. The growing family of global PrimaLoft YARN customers includes The North Face, L.L. Bean, Lands' End, Adidas and Cabela's, among others.

PrimaLoft is a registered trademark of Albany International Corp. PrimaLoft insulation was originally developed for the US Army as a water-resistant synthetic alternative to down.
