Spot market for PTA imports in China continued with its upward trend on July 18. For Taiwanese goods, cargo holders quoted selling price at US$ 1175-1180 per ton, buyers inquired for prices around US$ 1165/ton, ending in actual negotiations at US$ 1170-1175/ton.
Similarly, for South Korean goods, selling prices were around US$ 1160-1165/ton, downstream bids were around US$ 1155/ton, but actual negotiations took place around US$ 1155-1160/ton.
In North China, very few actual negotiations took place as cargo holders were reluctant to sell goods at low price. In the midst of limited supply, holders made offers for around 9,200 Yuan/ton, buyers showed interest at around 9050 Yuan/ton, summing up the negotiations at price of about 9100 Yuan/ton.
In East China, the domestic PTA market showed a slight increase in price with usual number of trading negotiations taking place. While sellers quoted around 9150 Yuan/ton, buyers showed interest at 9050-9100 Yuan/ton, and the actual negotiated price was around 9100-9120 Yuan/ton.
