Fibre2fashion to host 'International Conference on Man-Made Fibre Textiles'

Fibre2fashion, the B2B global textile, apparel and fashion portal announces the hosting of the “International Conference of Man-Made Textile Fibres” on 18-19 November, 2011 at Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
This was announced at a glittering press conference held in the textile hub of Surat by Dr PR Roy, Director – Fibre2fashion. The press conference was attended by the who's who of the textile industry in Surat.
They included Mr Arun Jariwala – a doyen of the Surat textile industry, Mr Rohit Mehta, President – SGCCI, Mr Dinesh Jhaveri and others.
The International Conference will be hosted by Fibre2fashion in conjunction with the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) & Surat Art Silk cloth Manufacturers Association (SASCMA).
The man-made fibre textile industry of Surat will receive special focus at the conference, considering the eminence and contribution of Surat in the development and growth of the man-made fibre industry on the textile map of India.
Eminent experts and personalities from the Indian textile fraternity would deliberate and discuss the ways and means of taking the Surat textile industry to the next level at the two-day conference.
Globally acclaimed and leading UK-based textile analyst Mr. Robin Anson has promised to share his expertise on the technicalities of man-made textile sector and will also give a presentation on the reasons why China is outperforming the world in the field of man-made fibre textiles.
Latest technologies in the field of man-made textiles will also be discussed at the conference, in order that, representatives of the Surat textile sector are kept up-to-date on the recent developments in the field.
Why Surat:
Surat is the largest centre for production of synthetic fibre fabrics, mainly nylon and polyester varieties in India. There are over 650,000 looms consuming 2,800 tons of yarn per day. The hub also houses over 450 fabric processing units and in all employs over one million people.
The textile hub is also home to over 65,000 embroidery machines and 50,000 multi-hued embroidery machines. Surat textile hub has the distinction of producing over 65 percent of India's man-made fabrics totaling to over 35 million meters per day.
There are around 130 textile markets in Surat which have over 40,000 wholesale outlets, catering to every nook and corner of the vast Indian textile market.
