Poole and Fiber & Yarn Products to participate in Outdoor

The companies will join together at OR to introduce EcoSure and new fiber technology to the market.

EcoSure is a staple fiber made from 100% PCR PET (recycled plastic beverage bottles) and third-party certified by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), meeting the highest environmental standards. Made for the environmentally-conscious consumer, EcoSure quality fibers reduce the amount of waste that burdens landfills and diminishes earth's natural resources.

Studies from NAPCOR determined that 1.451 billion pounds of PET were collected and sold for recycling in 2008, and the use of PCR polyester versus virgin polyester reduces energy consumption by 84% and greenhouse gas emissions by 71%. Approximately twenty 16-oz water bottles will produce enough fiber for one t-shirt or enough filling for a ski jacket.
