Mesdan's vanguard yarn splicing technology at ITMA show

MESDAN S.p.A. - Italy, since 1952 is a renowned manufacturer of Yarn Knotters & Splicers.. The division dedicated to the development and production of Laboratory Quality Control equipment is known as Mesdan-Lab and in concomitance with ITMA 2011, Mesdan-Lab celebrates its 20 years anniversary.

At the forthcoming ITMA 2011 exhibition (Barcelona, 22-29 September), Mesdan will showcase a variety of well known and NEW yarn splicers (Jointair – Aquasplicer – Hot Jointair) as well as some NEW Q.C. Laboratory instruments among which we highlight:

For fibre/yarn testing:
- new Mesdan EVENNESS Tester MT, for the evenness and hairiness control of slivers, rovings and spun yarns. The system analyses periodic mass variations generated in the manufacturing process.

Main characteristics:
- exclusive capacitive sensor with wide testing range (from 80 g/m of sliver up to Ne 200 yarn)
- modular system enabling to integrate the H-Sensor (for hairiness measurement) and fully automatic testing (with the addition of the Automatic Cop Changer)

- new version of the fully automatic yarn strength tester AUTODYN up to 5.000mm/sec speed
- NEW fully automatic Twistmatic Plus, yarn twist tester PC controlled,
- NEW Aqualab, for momentaneous high-volume measurement of moisture and regain in loose fibres and yarn packages

For fabric/garment testing:
- NEW automatic ELMATIC Elmendorf Tear tester with 30.000 cN capacity range
- NEW twin column Tenso-Lab 5.000 universal strength tester with 50kN capacity equipped with extension-meter
- modular NEW 9 position MARTINDALE Abrasion & Pilling tester

On the SPLICER side (Mesdan Yarn Joining Division), several novelties will be on display among which we selected:
- NEW Aquasplicer 4925B on electric bar for elastic core-yarn
- redesigned NEW Indigo splicer 4662 for Re-beaming (for Indigo dyed yarns)
- NEW Hot Jointair 4984B for coarse fancy yarns
- NEW automatic Jointair 698R (replacing 498 series) for Savio Espero retrofitting
