Groups of important buyers from Asia, Europe and the USA will join this year's Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles to search for new products, technologies, designs and suppliers from China and abroad. This leading home textiles fair in Asia will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 29 – 31 August 2011.

Attending buyers include top home furnishing brand Laura Ashley from the UK; retailer Sears Holdings from the USA; BALS Corporation, which is the sourcing agent for lifestyle product chain store Franc Franc from Japan; Nibico International Corporation from Taiwan and Togas from Russia. Influential trade associations such as Sistema Moda Italia, Home Fashion Products Association from the USA; Malaysian Textile Manufacturer's Association and Taiwan Weaving Industrial Association will also organise delegations to visit the fair.

The support of international buyers' attendance proves that the fair truly is a major home textile sourcing destination in Asia. Mr Otto Lam, General Manager for Laura Ashley is looking forward to find innovative home textile designs and technologies for their bedding, furnishings and home decorative products at the fair. He said: “I enjoy visiting this show, the exhibits are clearly presented and I have successfully found quality suppliers from China for our company at the previous fair. They are experienced in dealing with international clients and their fabrics are made with natural materials which meet our requirements.”

Mr Lam will also participate in the fair's business-matching programme to connect with exhibitors that meet their sourcing requirements.

Ms Anna Mitina, Head of production department for Togas, luxury home product retailer in Russia joins the fair to source quality products for contract business. She said: “I attended the fair last year and was surprised with the wide selection of decorative fabrics on offer. This year, I am looking for new suppliers of high quality curtains, sheers and upholstery fabrics and to meet with existing suppliers.”

Fair organisers invite buyers from China's mega home fabric and product malls
With the growing demand for home products and improved living standard of Chinese citizens, more home fabrics and products mega malls are opened in major and second tier cities in the country. In addition to regular promotions in major cities, the fair organisers have held road shows in Qingdao and Shijiazhuang to attract local buyers and have invited representatives from mega home product malls located at Changsha, Hefei, Shenyang, Xian, Zhengzhou and Zhuzhou to visit this year's fair. This extensive promotion campaign will provide exhibitors with new opportunities to expand their business from major cities to other regions in China.

Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2011 is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
