Persian carpet exports touch US$ 90.8mn in 3 months

In the first three months of the ongoing Iranian year that started on March 21, the exports of hand-woven carpets has touched US$ 90.8 million, according to Ali Malekjou, the Commercial Deputy for National Carpet Centre.
Exports of Persian carpets are likely to grow in the second quarter of Iranian year as several programmes are being carried out to boost the carpet export sector, Mr. Malekjou said. He stated that Iranian trade and economic delegations will be visiting Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and India in near future.
Iranian made Persian carpets have a great demand in Brazil, China, Central and South Africa and the Middle East.
