Mr. Gohar Ejaz, Chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), has been conferred with Pakistan's highest civilian honour, Hilal-e-Imtiaz award, APTMA Spokesperson said.
Mr. Ejaz has been selected for the honour for his committed, unselfish and successful adoption of textile industry's cause of making provision for necessary means for raising its contribution to the nation's economy and welfare of the country as a whole.
The APTMA Chief has stimulated Pakistan's textile industry to move ahead with unity while transforming all odds into unifying and revitalizing force, the association spokesperson said.
He added that Mr. Ejaz has always been the textile industry's voluble and unafraid representative, completely enthused by the nationalistic yearning of contributing to country's welfare.
The spokesman said, Mr. Ejaz's productive efforts towards a free market mechanism benefited the industry in the form of enhanced production and a rise in exports, which grew to a record US$ 13.9 billion during the last fiscal 2010-11.
The spokesperson further said that securing a free market operating regime greatly benefited the value added industry, which resulted in the country's cotton farming sector earning an additional resource of PKR 350 billion.
He even cited that the APTMA Chief successfully stood to help the textile industry from the gas and electricity crisis.
