LG Chemical to set up petrochemical complex in Kazakhstan

One of the biggest petrochemical producers in South Korea – LG Chemical announced that it would set up a petrochemical plant complex in Kazakhstan.

The plant will be set up at a cost of four billion US dollars in a joint venture with state-owned Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries (KPI).

The complex will have a capacity to produce 840,000 tons per annum of ethylene and 800,000 tons per year of polyethylene.

Commercial production of the plant is expected to begin in 2016.
