ShalinIndia, an India online shopping store has launched for its global customers floor mat dhurrie rugs that can be used for multiple purposes – yoga, meditation, group sitting, or just for spreading on the floor.

“We are happy to bring Indian dhurries rugs for our global online customers. Customers from around the world can now buy these rugs not only from our websites, but also from marketplaces like amazon and ebay. These dhurries have been handcrafted by the skilled artisans of Jodhpur, a small town near the Thar deserts of India”, says Shalini Verma, founder of ShalinIndia.

“Dhurries have a variety of use depending on size, pattern and material. The smallest one is 12 inches by 12 inches and is used as table cover for telephone stands and flower vases. Those in size 24 inches by 24 inches are often used as aasanas for meditation purposes. Dhurries used in large political or social gatherings may be as large as 20 feet by 20 feet. Dhurries are easily portable as they are lightweight and foldable. They come in a variety of color combinations and patterns catering to the needs of any taste or occasion”, explained Shalini Verma.

“Dhurries have a low maintenance cost, as they can be hand-washed at home. These are not infected by Silverfish or other insects which destroy carpets. Dhurries can also be used year round. Cotton dhurries that we have brought for our online customers, tend to make one feel warm in winters and cool in summers,” added Shalini Verma.

“Our dhurries are made by the weavers of Salawas village in Rajasthan. These weavers experiment with stripes, geometrical and stylized natural forms such as combs, arrow head, parrot, sparrow, and rhombus. Variously colored yarns are laboriously inserted to create different forms. The weavers always ensure that same designs are achieved on both sides in order to make the dhurries completely reversible,” further added Shalini Verma.

ShalinIndia is one of the premier online stores from India, selling India's cultural and traditional products like ethnic dresses, India jewelry, home furnishings, and Indian dinnerware to global customers.
