Encouraged by the return of European demand, especially Italian demand for finer merino wools, the spring wool market in Australia has started the week on a positive note.
Last month, the prices of finer wool had fallen up to 10 percent, but the prices regained 2 percent as Italians started their seasonal procurement of wools for quality clothing.
Wool prices had seen big falls in prices three weeks ago. The prices of finer microns 16.5 to 18 had fallen by 180 to 360 cents, i.e. by around 7 to 10 percent from their mid-June prices. So, wool prices have ample scope to recover.
