Santana Textiles, the Brazilian textile company, has expanded its production facilities at its plant in the Argentine Chaco province from 15 million metres to 20 million metres of yarn per year.
The increased capacity will meet the supply requirements for 6 million metres of cotton and polyester per year. It will also substitute for over 70,000 tons of yarn that currently Argentina imports.
The expansion of the plant has been carried out with an investment of US$ 77 million, out of which US$ 50 million has been utilized to procure the latest machinery and the remaining US$ 27 million for civil works.
Besides the manufacturing unit in the city of Resistencia in the Chaco province of Argentina, Santana Textiles has four production units in Brazil.
