In its endeavour to retain leadership position in the country's fabric market, Mafatlal Industries Ltd., a flagship company of Arvind Mafatlal Group, is all set to enhance its presence in yarn dyed shirting fabric across the country.

The company has already finalized plans to increase its total manufacturing capacity from existing 25 million meters per annum to 35 million meters per annum at its two integrated composite units at Nadiad and Navsari in Gujarat. The company plans to install state of the art machinery while undertaking capacity additions.

Mafatlal Industries Ltd offers various qualities in yarn dyed shirting and is considered a significant player in this segment in the domestic retail market among other prominent players such as Century, Arvind and a few others. It has received an encouraging response from dealers across the country for this variety for the impending festive season.

Commenting on the latest move of the company, Mr Rajiv Ranjan, President(Textiles), Mafatlal Industries Ltd said, “Looking at the overall retail fabric market size of the organized sector of 18-20 lakh meters per month in yarn dyed shirting, we are sure of acquiring a significant market share over the next one year.”

Mafatlals offer various variety of products such as shirtings, suiting, dress material, rubia, bottom wear, school uniforms, corporate uniforms etc.. The company has an extensive network of its dealers across the country. It is one of the few companies producing polyester cotton blended fabrics, which gives it a unique advantage.

The company enjoys leadership position in the fine voiles markets in the middle east gulf markets, and its fine fabrics in dyed and print varieties are much sought after by garment exporters in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Mafatlal, which has been in existence since 1905, is a market leader in white cotton and polyester-cotton fabrics. Mafatlals have now introduced many varieties in their white collections of lawns, cambric, poplins, dobbies, etc.

Mafatlals are currently conducting a series of dealers conferences at key locations in India. As part of its marketing initiatives, the company had organized dealers conference in Mumbai last week where the response was extremely encouraging.
