Egypt's Ministry of Trade and Industry is likely to impose additional customs duties on imports of textiles.
The anti-dumping group of the Ministry is studying a complaint received from the state-owned Holding Co. for Spinning & Weaving about dumping of low-priced textiles in the country.
If the group finds that foreign companies are charging low prices for their textile exports to Egypt and thereby hurting local manufacturers, the Ministry may resort to the imposition of duty on textiles imports within a month.
