Pakistan's textile exports during the initial two months of the current fiscal that began on July 1 grew by 12.67 percent to US$ 2.209 billion, as against exports worth US$ 1.960 billion achieved during the corresponding period of last fiscal.
As per the data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) there was 841.52 percent year-on-year rise in raw cotton exports during the review period.
During the July-August period, yarn exports surged by 252.42 percent, bed wear by 5.26 percent, readymade garments by 21.75 percent, knitwear by 12.53 percent, towels by 6.60 percent, tents by 130.92 percent, made up articles by 11.21 percent, art silk and synthetic textile by 27.19 percent and other textile materials by 32.18 percent.
On the other hand, cotton yarn exports plummeted by 7.64 percent, cotton carded by 96.91 percent and cotton cloth by 12.64 percent.
