Fibre2fashion – The biggest B2B platform for the global textile, clothing, fashion and retail value chain is launching an exclusive logistics related initiative for the textile value-chain. The new initiative - an Impact Feature on “Logistics & Supply Chain Management” will host an 'Online Logistics Showcase' – (Virtual) and also 'Hangar2Hanger' – (Print).

The current worldwide trade in the textile and clothing industry is close to a staggering US $600 billion. Most of the textile and clothing production industry is now located in the developing countries of the Asian sub-continent. This entails a massive movement of these goods over vast distances, which require precise logistics management.

The importance of logistics cannot be downplayed and underestimated in these fiercely competitive times, where delayed deliveries mean, loss of opportunities. Today, most of the companies recognize the need to be strong in the logistics department to be competitive, whether in the domestic or global markets.

Logistics helps those in the textile and garment trade to optimize the existing production and distribution processes from the same resources through effective management techniques and increase efficiency and competitiveness of companies. However, the challenge is for small and medium size enterprises (SME's), which have too less options when it concerns logistics. In turn they have fewer resources to fall back on, to achieve success.

The Impact Feature on “Logistics & Supply Chain Management” is an effort to showcase this very important component of the textile-value chain in a manner and scale never done before and will enable those from across the textile-value-chain and the logistics service providers to meet on a common virtual platform.

Hangar2Hanger:
It is a special print compendium featuring leading service providers from the logistics & supply chain segment and also knowledge based articles on logistics, best practices on supply chain, trends & innovations, warehouse management & expectations from industry and solution providers.

The compendium would prove to be a ready reckoner for the textile and garment industry to know about issues & challenges in logistics & supply chain management and leading services providers providing various value-added and customized services.

Online Logistics Showcase:
The 'Online Logistics Showcase' would be an initiative without boundaries and will attract visitors from across the global textile & apparel industry. It is an attempt to disseminate valuable information about logistics & supply chain management.

The 'Online Logistics Showcase' is an attractive opportunity for those in the global logistics and supply chain industry to showcase and brand their services with a 24x7 visibility to a global core audience made up of over one million stake holders in the textile value-chain.
