China's yarn output in August 2011 has increased 10.8 percent year-on-year to 2.441 million tons, according to China Cotton Association. However, this was a 0.2 percent decline compared to July. The total yarn production during the first eight months of the current year registered 18.342 million tons, up 11.5 percent year-on-year.
Fabric production during the month of August touched 5.29 billion metres, an increase of 11.1 percent year-on-year, but a decline of 0.56 percent compared to the previous month. During January-August period, the overall cloth output was 39.02 billion metres, up 13.7 percent year-on-year.
Chemical fibre production in August recorded a 17 percent year-on-year rise to 2.935 million tons. This was 4.49 percent more compared to the previous month's production. In the current year, until August, China's total chemical fibre production accumulated 22.01 million tons, up 16.4 percent year-on-year.
