Handicraft makers from all the SAARC nations, excluding Afghanistan, have agreed to boost intra-country trade in handicrafts by increasing mutual cooperation.
Representatives of the handicraft associations of individual SAARC member nations inked a mutual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the concluding day of the 4th SAARC Business Leaders Conclave held in Nepal.
All the handicraft associations which signed the MoU consented to keep in close and regular touch with each other, so as to increase their mutual cooperation and thereby enhance their regional trade.
Moreover, they also consented to exchange information related to handicrafts, and to cooperate and exchange economic and business related matters amongst themselves.
Further, they arrived at a consensus on the need to increase mutual cooperation and support among themselves to enhance mutual understanding of the market and investment and regularly organize trade events in the member nations.
