Oddments also had a good week under the circumstances, with the average Merino Cardings Price Guide down by 0.8%.

Buyers for China were dominant with good support from buyers for India and Taiwan. There also some notable buying activity for Italy on Tuesday.

Sales will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 43,398 bales are currently rostered for sale. Present estimates for the following two sales (Weeks 14 and 15) are 47,000 and 41,700 bales, respectively; an increase of 8.4% over the three sale period when compared with last year.

The New Zealand Merino Company is rostered to offer 3,000 bales in Week 14.

In South African sales, the Cape Wools Indicator was up by 1.1% since last week against a 5.4% depreciation of the Rand against the US Dollar and a 5.5% depreciation against the Euro. 7,538 bales were on offer.
