Spandex production facility in Araquari becomes operational

Korea-based Hyosung, the world's leading manufacturer of spandex, has started production of creora spandex at its latest plant in Araquari, in Brazil.
The new plant in Brazil's Santa Catarina region is an addition to the company's already existing facilities in Vietnam, Korea, Turkey and three facilities in China.
The first phase of production at Hyosung's US$ 100 million facility in Brazil has a capacity of 10,000 tons.
Several South American and Brazilian retailers and labels need production nearer to their facilities for speedy access to market, and with the new facility becoming operational, Hyosung will now be able to guarantee speedy delivery to these regions, Yun-Eun-Whang, President of Hyosung's Spandex Performance Unit said.
He revealed that the company proposes to make further investment to boost the production capacity of the new facility to 150,000 tons as it foresees a continuous rise in demand for spandex.
Hyosung looks forward to supplying its customers with the perfect blend of innovative products and quality through its most modern, patented production processes, enabling them to sustain their growth levels, he added.
