The Madhya Pradesh government has rolled back the 5 percent value added tax (VAT) on textiles.
VAT was imposed on textiles in the State after the Central Government exempted it from the excise tax.
Textile traders in the State called off their scheduled strike after the announcement of the government's decision was made.
While welcoming the decision, the traders have asked the government to issue written orders to the officials of commercial tax and other departments notifying them regarding the same.
