Filature Miroglio presented Newlife yarn at leading events in September. After launching the Newlife yarn platform at Expofil last February, Filature Miroglio, this edition, presented the “Newlife ecolibrary” to visitors to its stand.
Newlife ecolibrary, dedicated to brands, retailers and press, showcased a unique selection of commercial and Newlife certified fabrics produced by key textile manufacturers such as, Boselli E. & C. S.p.A., Frizza S.p.A., Gruppo Cinque S.r.l., Klopman International S.r.l., Lanificio Becagli S.r.l., Lanificio Milior S.p.A., Pontetorto S.p.A., Serates S.r.l., Tessitura Corti S.r.l., Tessitura Oreste Mariani S.p.A., Tessitura Virgilio Taiana S.p.A.
WORLD TEXTILE SUMMIT
Newlife by Filature Miroglio was an active presence at this important and unique summit. Kofi Annan opened the event and discussed the challenges facing the textile industry for the coming years.
During the event Dr. Stefano Cochis, Filature Miroglio's Business Unit Director, was a panelist in a discussion entitled “surviving a brave new world: how to be a winner in the competitive struggle for textile markets”. The panel was chaired by the award-winning journalist Nadine Dereza and also involved Thomas Babacan, CEO, Oerlikon Textile and COO, Oerlikon Group; Philip Chamberlain, head of sustainability, C&A Europe; Loek de Vries, CEO, Royal Ten Cate.
ITMA
ITMA, the International Exhibition of Textile Machinery's new section dedicated to fibres and yarns, with a strong focus on sustainability, wrapped up wrapped Newlife's September calendar. ITMA represented a unique opportunity for Newlife to create synergies with the entire textile supply chain, from machinery to finished textile and yarn products.
Newlife's commercial success and the attention it has received from textile producers and fashion brands alike is a direct result of both the platform's unique properties and environmental credentials. In less than six months, Newlife has grown from an ambitious product platform to a commercial reality that is leading and will keep leading the way in sustainable innovation for the textile industry.
Newlife is the product of an ambitious project developed by Filature Miroglio, it's a unique, complete and certified system of recycled polyester filament yarns coming 100% from postconsumer bottles sourced, processed into a polymer through a mechanical process, not chemical, and spun into yarn completely in Italy, thanks to an exclusive horizontal partnership agreement.
The consolidated know-how of Filature Miroglio combined with its ceaseless research towards innovation and its complete and patented process behind this 100% Made in Italy project, make Newlife an incredibly flexible platform that allows for a vast number of applications and performances with levels of quality equal to virgin polyester equivalents, but with considerable resource and cost savings for the environment, just to name a few: fashion, sportswear, underwear, technical clothing, workwear, medical garments, outdoor clothes, furnishings, accident prevention textiles.
