Spot market of PTA imports improves slightly

The spot market of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) imports slightly improved on October 9.

For Taiwan stock, market offers were around US$ 1,220-1,240/ton, inquires from downstream industries were for around US$ 1,200/ton, and actually negotiated price was around US$ 1,215-1,220/ton.

For South Korean stock, offers were around US$ 1,210/ton, bids from downstream industries were around US$ 1,180/ton, and actually negotiated price was around US$ 1,180-1,190/ton.

In North China, PTA market improved with cargo holders making offers around 9550 Yuan/ton. Downstream buyers bid for around 9450 Yuan/ton, resulting in actually negotiated price of around 9500 Yuan/ton. Overall, trading atmosphere looked flat with moderate number of actual negotiations taking place.

In East China too, PTA market rose with cargo holders quoting price of around 9450 Yuan/ton. Scattered bids from downstream buyers were around 9350 Yuan/ton, and actually negotiated price was around 9350-9400 Yuan/ton.
