Kawasaki ACN plant of Asahi Kasei running at 70% rates

Japan-based Asahi Kasei is currently running its Kawasaki Acrylonitrile (ACN) plant at 70 percent capacity rates. This was revealed to fibre2fashion by a senior company official of Asahi Kasei.
The added that the two other plants at Mizushima and in South Korea are operating at normal rates and there are no turnaround maintenance plans for any of the plants in the current year.
Asahi Kasei has multi-country operations spread over Japan, South Korea and Thailand. In Japan it operates two plants. The ACN plant in Mizushima has a capacity of 300,000 tons/year and the Kawasaki plant has a capacity of 150,000 tons/annum.
The South Korean plant has a capacity of 315,000 tons/year, while its Thailand ACN plant which is under construction will have a capacity of 200,000 tons per year.
In current market trends, price of Acrylonitrile was stable in Asian market. In F E Asian and S E Asian countries, ACN price stood at US$ 1905/ton and US$ 1895/ton, respectively.
