PX, PTA & MEG trends dip sharply

Paraxylene (PX) prices went down sharply, in Asian markets. In S E Asian region, PX price hovered in the range of US$ 1445/ton to US$ 1450/ton. In F E Asian countries, PX price was marked in the range of US$ 1450/ton to US$ 1455/ton. In Chinese market, price surged up and was assessed at US$ 1450/ton.

In Asian markets, PTA prices decreased sharply. In F E Asian and S E Asian region, PTA prices went down to between US$ 1085/ton to US$ 1095/ton. PTA imported from Taiwanese market was quoted around US$ 1090/ton. In Chinese market, PTA price was marked in between RMB 8300/ton to RMB 8400/ton.

In S E Asian market, Ethylene price declined at slower rate, in the range of US$ 980/ton to US$ 985/ton. In F E Asian market, price was in the range of US$ 980/ton to US$ 985/ton. In European domestic market, price was in the range of € 890/ton to € 900/ton. In N W European market, Ethylene price was at US$ 1175/ton (on CIF base). In U.S.A market, Ethylene price was in the range of 48.00 cents/pound to 48.50 cents/pound.

MEG price declined sharply. In Indian markets, MEG was offered in the range of US$ 1115/ton to US$ 1120/ton. In Chinese domestic market, MEG price was in the range of RMB 8500/ton to RMB 8550/ton. MEG price may decline further in near future.

In S E Asian region, BGPET Chips price declined in between US$ 1625/ton to US$ 1650/ton. In F E Asian markets, selling offers were around US$ 1650/ton for export goods. In Chinese market, BG PET Chip went up and was offered at RMB 11900/ton.

In Korean markets, FG PET Chips prices were quoted in the range of US$ 1500/ton to US$ 1510/ton and in Indian market, FOB based price was assessed in the range of US$ 1515/ton to US$ 1530/ton. In Chinese market, FG PET Chip hovered at RMB 11000/ton to RMB 11100/ton.

PSF price declined sharply in Asian market. PSF offers hovered in the range of US$ 1725/ton to US$ 1730/ton. In S E Asian market, PSF offers were around US$ 1730/ton. In Chinese domestic market, PSF offers were declined in the range of RMB 11950/ton to RMB 12000/ton.

Polyester POY prices dropped down in Chinese domestic market and slipped down to RMB 12700/ton. FDY and DTY selling offers were unchanged and stood at RMB 13000/ton RMB 15000/ton, respectively. In export market, offers for POY, FDY and DTY were at US$ 1735/ton, US$ 1765/ton and US$ 2055/ton, respectively.
