The Monitoring System of China's National Cotton Market conducted a survey, from October 20 to November 1, 2011, on the situation of China's 2011 cotton production.

The results show that China's overall cotton growing is still in normal to better state, although the Yellow River and Yangtze River regions have been affected by wet weather after August, which has produced some negative impact on cotton growth.

China's national cotton acreage is estimated at 79.417 million Chinese Mu (one hectare equals 15 Chinese Mu) in 2011, an increase of 8.5 percent over the previous year.

Total cotton output is expected to be 7.548 million tons, an increase of 21.2 percent year on year, and average yield is expected to be 95 kg / Mu, up 11.6 percent year on year.
