China's silk item exports to India decline in volume

The export of Chinese silk items to India has registered a decline in volume during the first three quarters of current year.
China exported 4193.10 tons of silk commodities to India during January to September this year, showing a decline of 26.75 percent year-on-year.
However, the value of exports increased by 4.58 percent y-o-y to US$ 216 million. This was due to an increase in average unit price to US$ 51.61 per kg, a rise of 42.77 percent y-o-y.
The volume of India's imports accounted for 32.75 percent of total Chinese silk item exports. Value-wise, India's imports constituted 40.35 percent of total Chinese silk item export earnings.
