Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan will soon meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to seek an increase in the minimum support price (MSP) for cotton.
The Chief Minister will lead a delegation consisting of Ministers and elected representatives from the cotton growing regions in the State, according to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The decision to meet the Prime Minster was taken after the Chief Minister had a meeting with representatives of cotton cultivators from the State.
In addition to increase in the minimum support price for cotton, the delegation is also expected to seek clarity over the Government's export policy.
