After the successful fulfilling of contractual obligations by cotton growers of Balkan and Mary provinces of Turkmenistan, farmers of yet another province have achieved the set target of cotton harvest.
Cotton growers from Akhal province have now completed their obligations by harvesting and delivering 205,000 tons of raw cotton to the country's granaries, Dangmyrat Myratberdiev, Regional Governor of the province said.
On timely completion of their cotton harvest, the farmers of Akhal province were congratulated by Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Under the cotton harvest campaign, Turkmenistan farmers are likely to harvest 1.05 million tons of cotton this season, which has been grown on 550,000 hectares of land.
On receiving the harvested cotton by the Government, it will be processed at 36 ginners across the country.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan would then oversee the sale of cotton to both domestic and foreign buyers.
