Panabaka Lakshami addresses 'India- Malaysia Trade and Investment Forum'

An Indian delegation led by Smt. Panabaaka Lakshmi, Minister of State for Textiles, Government of India along with Chairmen of the various Export Promotion Councils of Textile Ministry , is presently in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) with a view to strengthen the bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, services and commerce between both the countries in the back drop of the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement, which came into effect from 01st July, 2011.

During the visit, the Minister met Mr. Dato' Mustapa bin Mohamed, Minister International Trade & Industry, Government of Malaysia on 21st November, 2011 and had discussions on issues relating to Trade, Services etc., between the two countries, particularly in respect of Textiles sector.

Smt. Panabaaka Lakshmi, had also delivered a special address at the 'India- Malaysia Trade and Investment Forum' in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 21, 2011,

The INTRADE 2011 - The 5th Malaysia International Event for Exporters at MATRADE Centre, Kuala Lumpur was jointly inaugurated by Smt. Panabaaka Lakshmi, Hon'ble Minister of State for Textiles, Government of India along with Mr. Dato' Mustapa bin Mohamed, Minister International Trade & Industry, Government of Malaysia.

In addition, Smt. Panabaaka Lakshmi, also inaugurated the Indian Pavillion Intexpo 2011 at the MATRADE Centre. Among the major participants, India has been represented by the export promotion councils viz. SRTPEC, HHEC, HEPC, Silk Mark, AEPC etc.
