Japan's man-made fibre output shoots up

The production of man-made fibres in Japan has increased by 4.4 percent year-on-year in October to 82,569 tons, according to the figures released by the Japan Chemical Fibres Association.

Of this, the production of synthetic fibres grew by 5.1 percent year-on-year to 69,333 tons.

The production of acrylic staple fibre increased by 5.2 percent y-o-y to 13,651 tons, and that of polyester staple fibre rose by 10.7 percent to 11,930 tons.

However, the production of nylon filament declined by 6.2 percent y-o-y to 7,247 tons during the month, and that of polyester filament dipped by 2.7 percent to 15,120 tons.
