International Fair of Turkmen cotton products opens

The first International Fair of domestic cotton products began in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.
The fair is intended at generating higher global awareness regarding the country's accomplishment in agricultural sector, experience sharing with world's top-most manufacturers and deliberating with foreign firms and enterprises on cooperation issues.
Inaugurating the fair, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted cotton as one of the key export-oriented agricultural product of the country.
He said each year textile industry base of Turkmenistan if further strengthened and several new businesses have been established and projects commissioned during the past few years. As a result, the country is able to gradually enhance its volume of cotton production.
The President stated that Turkmen cotton products are shipped to several countries including Iran, Indonesia, Turkey, Singapore, China, Republic of Korea, Ukraine, Russia and the United Kingdom.
