Genuine silk varieties on display at Hyderabad expo

With an aim to enlighten the customers regarding purity of the silk and present them with an opportunity to have a look at and buy several genuine varieties of silk and silk items, a 'Silk Mark' expo is being held in Hyderabad, the capital of south Indian State of Andhra Pradesh.
Several silk and silk items like saris, dress materials and accessories from 14 States are being displayed in 52 stalls at the expo.
India's domestic silk turnover hovers around Rs. 100 billion, which does not include its imports, Mr. KS Menon, CEO of Silk Mark Organization said.
He added that Silk Mark is a mark for quality assurance that the Silk Mark Organisation of India gives to ensure that the customers get only genuine silk.
Besides all four kinds of silk exclusively produced in India, namely, Golden silk, Mulbari silk, Eri silk and Tassar silk, several weaves like Kancheepuram, Ikat, Pochampally tie and dye, Patola, Salem, Molakalmuru, Sambalpur and Golden Muga silk saris are also being showcased at the expo.
