A one month long workshop on designing and colour application on fabric and paper, called “Colour Techniques on Fabric and Paper” has opened in Pakistan's capital city of Islamabad.
The workshop, being conducted by Zara Sajid, a textile designer from National College of Arts Lahore, aims to impart basic knowledge regarding the fundamentals and principles of design and colour like, basic design development techniques, marbling, tie and dye techniques, product development and product exhibition.
According to the instructor, the training provides an opportunity to explore and experiment, which would stimulate the creativity of the learners and expand their horizons.
The workshop would help the attendees to completely grasp the techniques being demonstrated, and also have equip themselves with knowledge regarding the textures and surfaces being used.
All the participants would have to present a final design involving use of one or more of the techniques learnt, and then transform that design into a product for display at the end of the workshop.
