Chinese textile sector still retains lead – Textile body

“Although competition from global textile industry will intensify in 2012, China's textile industry has integrated inherent competitive advantages”, said a top official of a textile body.
Wang Tiankai, President of the China Textile Industry Association said this at the recently held “Seventh Annual Conference of the China Textile Round Table Forum".
He added, “Due to the mature and complete industrial system, the industry has more obvious advantage in terms of products, quality and market share”.
Wang Tiankai is still optimistic about prospects for 2012. He informed that the tight external environment formed a compelling mechanism on the market and will help bring a new round of industry reshuffle, which will goad textile enterprises to innovate and adopt new technology.
Wang Tiankai expects that production and sales as well as benefits of China's textile industry will continue to grow in 2012. Operational indicators of large-scale enterprises are expected to maintain double-digit growth, but growth rate will be lower than the previous year.
